Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.
Sigma Kappa provides multiple on-campus events to fundraise for our philanthropies.
For the fall semester, our chapter holds Pearl Jam, Dude's Day, and Founder's Day yearly. We also participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's!
Pearl Jam is a philanthropy event. It is a lip-sync battle that is open to the campus, where you can compete or just watch the performances. This event is to fundraise for the Sigma Kappa Foundation.
Dude's Day is an event that we hold for our sisters to bring their dads and dudes to hang out and bond.
Founder's Day is a yearly event held for active members and alumnae members to celebrate the day we were founded (November 9th, 1874)!
Every year, we create a Sigma Kappa team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's to help beat the disease! We invite our alumnae and family to join as well! For more information on how to join our walk, contact our Vice President of Philanthropic Services, her email is located on the Chapter Officers page.
For the spring semester, our chapter holds SKapture the Flag, Eating Disorders Awareness Week, and Female Figure's Day yearly.
SKapture the Flag is a philanthropy event that is open to the campus. The teams play capture the flag. The money raised is given to the Sigma Kappa Foundation.
Eating Disorders Awareness Week is a weeklong event. It is a philanthropy event for one of our local philanthropies. Throughout this week, we have campus-open events to raise awareness for eating disorders.
Female Figure's Day is an event for us to bring our mothers and our female figures together to have a brunch to celebrate them and bond.
